Description

From one of todays photo shoots,I have been considering the idea of offering costumed guided walks to variouse Bronte spots so this was the main aim of the shoot .
Its also to get some interesting shots of my very unimpressive governess gown .I amde the gown to be as boring as possible ,I originaly made the gown with no trim on the bodice and much simpler sleeves but it looked too much like a servants gown so I added more details to the sleeves and the bodice trim.
Governesses seem to have had an unspoken dress code of black ,grey and less frequently pale lilac.I decided on grey as I used the gown for my Bronte work and Ann Bronte writes about buying grey silk to make a dress while she is a governess in the late 1840s and the gown is roughley that era ,
